Wheat Straw Incorporation Affecting Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Fractions in Chinese Paddy Soil

چکیده

Soil organic carbon (SOC) and nitrogen (N) fractions greatly affect soil health quality. This study explored the effects of wheat straw incorporation on Chinese rice paddy fields with four treatments: (1) a control (CK), (2) mineral NPK fertilizer (NPK), (3) moderate (3 t ha?1) plus (MSNPK), (4) high (6 (HSNPK). In total, 0–5, 5–10, 10–20, 20–30 cm depths were sampled from in China. Compared CK, HSNPK treatment (p < 0.05) increased C fraction content (from 13.91 to 53.78%), mainly including SOC, microbial biomass (MBC), water-soluble (WSOC), labile (LOC) profile (0–30 cm), it also N 10.70 55.31%) such as total (TN) at 0–10 depth, (MBN) 0–20 (WSTN) 0–5 depths, (LTN) 0–30 depth. The primary components LOC LTN are MBC MBN. Various positively correlated each other 0.05). promoted MBC, WSOC, SOC ratios, MBN, WSTN, TN ratios depth cm. To summarize, application could maintain improve quality, which leads grain yields.

Soil Health in Response to Bio-Augmented Paddy Straw Compost

The present investigation is an account of soil quality parameters and wheat (Triticum aestivum HD-2285) yield as influenced by insitu incorporation of paddy straw and its subsequent inoculation with two cellulolytic and one lignolytic fungi. Such information may prove useful to farmers as it may provide them with an option to use the undesired crop waste as partial replacements for synthetic f...

Soil organic carbon dynamics jointly controlled by climate, carbon inputs, soil properties and soil carbon fractions.

Soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics are regulated by the complex interplay of climatic, edaphic and biotic conditions. However, the interrelation of SOC and these drivers and their potential connection networks are rarely assessed quantitatively. Using observations of SOC dynamics with detailed soil properties from 90 field trials at 28 sites under different agroecosystems across the Australian ...

The Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock

Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...

Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Fractions in Temperate Alley Cropping Systems

Alley cropping may promote greater sequestration of soil organic carbon. The objective of this study was to examine spatial variability of soil organic carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) fractions relative to tree rows in established alley cropping systems in north central Missouri. Soils were collected to a depth of 30 cm from two alley cropped sites, a 19-yr-old pecan (Carya illinoinensis)/bluegrass...

Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Fractions and Crop Yields Affected by Residue Placement and Crop Types

Soil labile C and N fractions can change rapidly in response to management practices compared to non-labile fractions. High variability in soil properties in the field, however, results in nonresponse to management practices on these parameters. We evaluated the effects of residue placement (surface application [or simulated no-tillage] and incorporation into the soil [or simulated conventional...
